1. About these terms

These terms are between you and Keep the Score, the operator of keepthescore.co.uk and the Keep the Score app. They apply to the information website, native app, accounts, public match-sharing pages, Free plan and Pro subscription, together referred to as the service.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or purchase a subscription. If you allow a child or another person to use the service through your account or device, you remain responsible for that use and for the information entered or shared.

2. What the service does

Keep the Score helps coaches, parents and teams set up football matches, operate a match timer, record scores and events, prepare team sheets and share selected match information. The website provides product information, support, legal information and public spectator pages; match management and subscriptions are handled in the app.

Keep the Score is a convenience tool. It is not an official competition record, safeguarding system, emergency service or substitute for a league’s official reporting process. You are responsible for checking any important match information.

3. Free and Pro plans

The Free plan provides the core live scoring and timing features shown in the app. Free matches are not added to saved match history, synced to an account or retained as Pro match records. The Free plan may include advertising.

Pro unlocks the features described in the app at the time of purchase, which may include saved teams and players, match history and cloud sync, additional match statistics, team-sheet and result graphics, match reports, live spectator links and an advert-free experience.

We may improve, replace or remove features where reasonably necessary. We will not deliberately remove the core value of a paid subscription during a paid period without taking appropriate steps under applicable consumer law.

4. Accounts and security

• Provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
• Verify your email address when requested.
• Keep your password private and use a strong password that you do not reuse elsewhere.
• Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
• Do not share, sell or transfer your Keep the Score account to another person.

We may temporarily restrict or suspend access while investigating suspected misuse, security issues or breaches of these terms.

5. Teams, players and match content

You retain ownership of information and content you enter. You give us a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, process, copy and display that content only as needed to provide, secure and improve the service.

You must have the right and an appropriate lawful reason to enter or upload player information, squad numbers, team names, crests, photographs or other content. This is especially important when information relates to children. Use the minimum information needed and obtain permission from players, parents, guardians, clubs or rights holders where appropriate.

Result graphics, team sheets and match reports are created from information you enter. You are responsible for checking them before sharing.

6. Public spectator links and sharing

A live spectator link is public to anyone who receives or forwards it. It may display team names, crests, scores, the match clock, goalscorers and enabled match statistics. You control whether to create and distribute a link and are responsible for the information displayed through it.

Do not include sensitive, excessive, unlawful or inappropriate information in a public link. We may disable a link where reasonably necessary to protect people, comply with law, maintain security or address misuse.

7. Apple Pro subscriptions

• Pro is offered as an automatically renewing monthly or yearly subscription through Apple’s App Store.
• The price, subscription period and any introductory offer are displayed in the app and Apple purchase confirmation before you subscribe.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Apple processes the payment; Keep the Score does not receive or store your full payment-card details.
• The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled through your Apple subscription settings before the end of the current billing period. Apple controls the exact billing and renewal timing.
• After cancellation, Pro normally remains available until the end of the period already paid for, unless Apple states otherwise.
• Restore Purchase can restore an eligible App Store subscription when you use the Apple Account that originally purchased it.

A Pro purchase is linked to the Keep the Score account used when the purchase is first verified. If Apple reports that the subscription is linked to a different Keep the Score login, sign in with the original login or contact support. We will not transfer or disclose another account’s subscription or data without appropriate verification.

Apple handles App Store billing and refund requests under its own terms and processes. Nothing in these terms limits any statutory consumer rights you may have.

8. Cancellation, sign-out and account deletion

You can manage or cancel an Apple subscription from the App Store subscription settings. Deleting the app, signing out or deleting your Keep the Score account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancellation must be completed separately with Apple.

You can permanently delete your Keep the Score account from the app. Account deletion removes the account and associated cloud data that we are not legally required to retain. It cannot be undone and does not create an entitlement to a refund.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, creates a security risk, infringes another person’s rights or must be restricted by law. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide an opportunity to resolve it.

9. Apple, Google and other services

The service depends on third-party platforms and providers, including Apple for app distribution and subscriptions, Google services for app accounts, cloud features, notifications, consent and advertising, and hosting, email and security providers. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms and privacy information.

The Free app may display third-party advertising. An advert is not an endorsement by Keep the Score, and any transaction with an advertiser is between you and that advertiser.

10. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use the service unlawfully, fraudulently or to harm, harass or impersonate anyone;
• upload content that is unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, obscene, misleading or infringes another person’s rights;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access, bypass security, probe systems or introduce malware;
• scrape, copy, reverse engineer, resell or commercially exploit the service except where the law expressly allows it;
• interfere with other users or place an unreasonable load on the service; or
• use public sharing to expose personal information without proper authority.

11. Intellectual property

The Keep the Score name, branding, software, interface, design and our original content are owned by us or licensed to us. We give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the service in accordance with these terms.

Club names, crests, photographs and other third-party material remain the property of their respective owners. Their appearance in user-created content does not imply endorsement by Keep the Score.

12. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service available and accurate, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Internet access, device settings, maintenance, faults and third-party platforms may affect accounts, cloud sync, adverts, notifications, purchases and live links.

We may update the app, website, security requirements or supported operating systems where reasonably necessary. You may need to install an update to continue using some features.

13. Responsibility and liability

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate information you enter, content or links you share, failures outside our reasonable control, or reliance on the service as an official match record.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory protections and may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern informally.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service, law, subscriptions or our providers. We will post the revised terms here, update the date above and provide additional notice where a change is significant and notice is reasonably possible.
